Welcome to Somerset Pet Welfare Alliance!
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Somerset County, Maine, dedicated to helping local pet owners afford essential veterinary care — starting with affordable spay and neuter services.

I’m Kelly Normandin, founder of SPWA. After years of fostering, rescuing, and working in animal welfare, I saw how heartbreaking it can be when families want to care for their pets but simply can’t afford rising veterinary costs.
That’s why I started Somerset Pet Welfare Alliance: to bridge the gap between love and affordability.

Our mission is simple — to keep pets healthy, reduce unwanted litters, and support the families who love them. Through fundraising, community partnerships, and donations, we provide financial assistance to pet owners who need help the most.

At SPWA, we believe that every pet deserves a chance at a happy, healthy life — and that no one should ever have to choose between caring for their beloved companion and paying their bills.
